Drug Peddler Arrested in Kishtwar: 5.71g of Heroin Recovered

Kishtwar, January 9: In a significant crackdown against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a suspected drug peddler at Model Naka Dhrabshalla. The arrest led to the recovery of 5.71 grams of a heroin-like substance.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 11/2025 at the concerned police station, invoking provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar commended the team for their swift action and reiterated the police department’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace in the region. He urged citizens to actively cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities. The SSP assured that informants’ identities would remain strictly confidential.

This arrest is part of an ongoing drive to curb drug abuse and trafficking, which has been a growing concern in the district.
