Dy CM Surinder Choudhary Reviews Development Projects in Nowshera: Stresses Quality and Timely Completion
Nowshera, Dec 6: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted a comprehensive review of key departments in Nowshera, emphasizing the need for quality and timely execution of development projects.
During the meeting, the Dy CM assessed the physical and financial progress of PMGSY projects across Rajouri and Budhal divisions. He directed officials to expedite the completion of ongoing projects, underscoring that no compromise on quality standards would be tolerated. He took serious note of reports concerning substandard work on some projects and instructed officials to ensure strict adherence to quality parameters.
Addressing delays caused by forest clearance issues, the Dy CM urged the concerned departments to streamline coordination and secure timely approvals to avoid hindrances in project execution.
Focus on PWD and Tourism Development
In a detailed review of the Public Works Department (PWD) sector, Choudhary examined the progress of various infrastructure projects and reiterated the importance of meeting deadlines without compromising on standards.
Recognizing the potential of the Sheshera Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its population of leopards and other wildlife, the Dy CM instructed the Wildlife Warden to draft a proposal to develop the sanctuary as a prime tourist destination. He highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting tourism and called for active efforts to publicize the district’s scenic attractions to boost visitor inflow.
Industrial Development
The Dy CM also reviewed the status of the Kheora Industrial Estate, which currently houses 51 industrial units, with 31 operational. He directed the concerned department to submit a detailed report on the 20 non-functional units. Furthermore, he was apprised of proposals for two new industrial estates at Kuldabi and Qila Darhal, which aim to enhance industrial activity in the region.
Zero Tolerance for Illegal Mining
Taking stock of the Geology and Mining sector, Choudhary stressed the importance of curbing illegal mining activities. He called for intensified vigilance and better coordination among enforcement agencies to ensure systematic and scientific mining practices. He warned that any illegal activity in this sector would face strict action.
Public Outreach
The Dy CM also interacted with local residents, listening to their grievances and concerns. He assured them of prompt action to address their issues, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to resolving public concerns effectively.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Executive Engineers from PWD and PMGSY, Assistant Labour Commissioner Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Director Handicrafts Abhinandan Mangotra, and other key officers.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s proactive approach and directives are expected to accelerate development in the region while ensuring high standards in project execution.
