Election Commission of India Assesses Assembly Election Preparations in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, August 9: The Election Commission of India (ECI), led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and including Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. SS Sandhu, is in Jammu and Kashmir to oversee preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections.The ECI team has engaged with representatives from both national and state-recognized political parties to gather their perspectives.

Additionally, the Commission has reviewed election readiness with the Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Officers, and Superintendents of Police, assessing the security situation.The ECI team is scheduled to meet with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir later today.
