The UP Civil Services Combined Competitive Exam consists of three stages:

Preliminary Examination: It is an objective-type examination consisting of two papers, each paper carrying 200 marks. The duration of each paper is two hours. Paper I covers General Studies and Paper-II covers General Aptitude Test. Only those candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Main Examination.

Main Examination: It consists of a written examination and an interview. The written examination consists of nine papers, of which seven are compulsory and two are optional. The total marks for the written examination are 1500. The interview carries 200 marks.

Personality Test/Interview: Candidates who clear the Main Examination are called for a personality test/interview. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the interview.
Salary:
The salary of candidates recruited through the UP Civil Services Combined Competitive Exam varies depending on the post they are appointed to. The salary ranges from Rs. 9,300/- to Rs. 67,000/- per month, with additional allowances.

General Aptitude Test (Paper II) – Comprehension, interpersonal skills including communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision-making and problem-solving, general mental ability, basic numeracy, and data interpretation.
