*Jammu Police Solve Gataru Murder Case, 11 Accused Arrested

The murder of Gataru, also known as Sumit Jandial, has added another dark chapter to Jammu’s crime history. However, the swift action and efficiency of the police have led to the case being solved. During a press conference, Jammu SSP Joginder Singh revealed that a total of 13 individuals were involved in the conspiracy, out of which 11 have been arrested. The search for the remaining two accused is still ongoing.

A Bloody End to an Old Rivalry

Gataru’s murder was not an outcome of sudden rage but a long-standing enmity. This dispute was between two rival gangs—Gataru’s group and Vikas Salathia, aka Vicky Khauf Gang. According to police investigations, in 2023, Vicky Salathia’s gang murdered a young man who is the close associate of the Gataru Gang named Akshay Kumar in Ramgarh. This incident further escalated tensions between the two groups, eventually leading to Gataru’s murder as an act of revenge although it is alleged by the Khauff Gang that it was an act of Revenge of the murder of their group member Makhan on the Ring Road in Samba Distt. It was the result of their rivalry that while chasing the criminals of Khauf gang PSI Deepak Sharma of Ramgarh police station was martyred in the cross firing in GMC Kathua and gangster Vasudev Sharma aka Sonu of Khauf encountered in that incident.

The Murder Conspiracy and Criminal Network

The murder was planned well in advance. A room was rented in the Shastri Nagar area of Jammu for the execution of the crime. A black Alto car was purchased for ₹1,05,000 to facilitate the crime. The weapons used were sourced from outside Jammu and Kashmir. The accused had been tracking Gataru’s movements for nearly four months, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Police investigations further revealed that the criminals, after committing the murder, fled using a stolen scooter, which was later recovered from Samba district. Among the 11 arrested individuals, two are minors. Efforts are still being made to capture the remaining suspects.

Arrests and Police Action

Immediately after the murder, police launched an extensive operation, conducting raids in Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Around 30 suspects were detained, leading to the identification of the main conspirators.

This action reaffirmed that no matter how well-organized a crime is, escaping the law is not easy.

Will This Gang War End?

A crucial question remains—will Gataru’s murder mark the end of this gang war, or will it fuel more violence? History has shown that such rivalries do not fade easily.

The enmity between Gataru’s group and Vicky Salathia’s gang is not just personal but also deeply rooted in organized crime and external criminal networks.

जम्मू में गटारू उर्फ सुमित जंडियाल की हत्या ने शहर के आपराधिक इतिहास में एक और काले अध्याय को जोड़ दिया। लेकिन पुलिस की मुस्तैदी और त्वरित कार्रवाई से इस जघन्य अपराध का खुलासा कर दिया गया। जम्मू के एसएसपी जोगिंदर सिंह ने इस मामले को लेकर प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस कर बताया कि कुल 13 आरोपी इस साजिश में शामिल थे, जिनमें से 11 को गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है। बाकी दो आरोपियों की तलाश में लगातार छापेमारी जारी है।

पुरानी दुश्मनी का खूनी अंजाम

गटारू की हत्या किसी एक पल की रंजिश का परिणाम नहीं थी, बल्कि यह वर्षों पुरानी दुश्मनी का नतीजा थी। यह विवाद दो गुटों—गटारू और विकास सलाथिया उर्फ विक्की खौफ गैंग—के बीच चल रहा था। पुलिस जांच में सामने आया कि 2023 में रामगढ़ में अक्षय कुमार नामक युवक की हत्या विक्की सलाथिया के गुर्गों ने की थी। इस हत्या ने दोनों गुटों के बीच टकराव को और बढ़ा दिया, जिसका बदला लेने के लिए गटारू की हत्या की गई। अपनी सोशल मीडिया साइट्स के जारी अक्सर खौफ गैंग यह दावा करता की कार्य की हत्या उनके साथी मक्खन की मौत का बदला है। उनकी पुरानी दुश्मनी का अंजाम यह निकला था कि रामगढ़ पुलिस के पीएसआई दीपक शर्मा इन बदमाशों की क्रॉस फायरिंग में शहीद हो गए थे जब वह उनको पकड़ने के लिए कठुआ के गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज पहुंचे थे। इस घटना में पुलिस ने खौफ गैंग के एक गुर्गे बासुदेव शर्मा उर्फ शुन्नु का एनकाउंटर कर दिया था।

हत्या की साजिश और क्राइम नेटवर्क

हत्या की साजिश काफी पहले से रची जा रही थी। इसके लिए जम्मू के शास्त्री नगर इलाके में किराए पर कमरा लिया गया। अपराध को अंजाम देने के लिए एक काली ऑल्टो कार 1,05,000 रुपये में खरीदी गई। हथियारों का इंतजाम जम्मू-कश्मीर से बाहर से किया गया। हत्या से पहले चार महीने तक गटारू की हर गतिविधि पर नजर रखी गई, ताकि सही मौके पर वार किया जा सके।

पुलिस जांच के दौरान यह भी पता चला कि अपराधियों ने हत्या के बाद भागने के लिए एक स्कूटी भी छीनी थी, जिसे बाद में सांबा जिले से बरामद किया गया। इस पूरी साजिश में 11 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया, जिनमें दो नाबालिग भी शामिल हैं। शेष आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी के लिए पुलिस कड़ी मेहनत कर रही है।

गिरफ्तारी और पुलिस की कार्रवाई

हत्या के तुरंत बाद पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए जम्मू, पंजाब, हरियाणा, दिल्ली और उत्तर प्रदेश में छापेमारी की। करीब 30 संदिग्धों को हिरासत में लिया गया, जिसके बाद मुख्य साजिशकर्ताओं की पहचान संभव हो सकी। पुलिस की इस कार्रवाई ने एक बार फिर यह साबित कर दिया कि अपराध कितना भी संगठित क्यों न हो, कानून से बचना आसान नहीं है।

क्या खत्म होगी गैंगवार की यह कड़ी?

अब बड़ा सवाल यह उठता है कि क्या गटारू की हत्या के बाद यह गैंगवार खत्म हो जाएगी? या फिर बदले की यह आग और अधिक हिंसा को जन्म देगी? इतिहास गवाह है कि जब भी दो आपराधिक गुटों के बीच ऐसी टकराहट होती है, तो मामला आसानी से शांत नहीं होता। गटारू और विक्की सलाथिया गुटों की दुश्मनी केवल व्यक्तिगत रंजिश नहीं है, बल्कि इसमें आपराधिक गठजोड़ और बाहरी नेटवर्क की भी बड़ी भूमिका रही है।

शहर में शांति और विश्वास बहाल करने की जरूरत

इस तरह की गैंगवार न केवल अपराधियों के बीच टकराव को दर्शाती है, बल्कि आम जनता के लिए भी खतरे की घंटी होती है। जब दो गुटों के बीच संघर्ष होता है, तो उसका प्रभाव निर्दोष नागरिकों पर भी पड़ता है। ऐसे में पुलिस और प्रशासन की यह बड़ी जिम्मेदारी बन जाती है कि वे सख्त कार्रवाई करें और शहर में विश्वास बहाल करें।

जम्मू पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई सराहनीय है, लेकिन कानून व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाए रखने के लिए जरूरत है कि इन अपराधियों को कठोर सजा मिले। इसके साथ ही, समाज में जागरूकता फैलाने और युवाओं को अपराध की दुनिया से दूर रखने के लिए सरकारी और सामाजिक प्रयासों की भी आवश्यकता है।

गटारू हत्या कांड ने एक बार फिर यह साबित कर दिया कि अपराध कितना भी संगठित क्यों न हो, वह कानून की गिरफ्त से बच नहीं सकता। पुलिस की सतर्कता और त्वरित कार्रवाई ने इस मामले को सुलझाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई। लेकिन असली चुनौती अब यह है कि क्या जम्मू प्रशासन इन गैंगों की जड़ों को पूरी तरह खत्म कर पाएगा? क्या शहर फिर से सुरक्षित और शांतिपूर्ण माहौल की ओर लौट पाएगा?

यह मामला केवल एक हत्या का नहीं, बल्कि एक बड़े आपराधिक नेटवर्क को जड़ से खत्म करने का है। अगर इस पर सही तरीके से कार्रवाई हुई, तो शायद यह गैंगवार खत्म हो सके और जम्मू एक बार फिर शांति की राह पर लौट सके।
