Government Medical College Rajouri Shifts Departments to Old Hospital Building Temporarily
Rajouri, June 3, 2025: The Government Medical College (GMC) and Associated Hospital Rajouri has announced a temporary relocation of its departments to Old Hospital Building in Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri, as per an official order issued on June 3, 2025. This move follows Office Order No. 57 GMCR of 2025, dated February 6, 2025, and will remain in effect until the Mother and Child Hospital becomes fully operational with all necessary infrastructure.
According to the order (No: GMCR/2025-26/1038-46), signed by Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Bhatia, Principal of GMC Rajouri, the relocation is a temporary measure. Non-surgical departments will be shifted back to the Kheora Campus once the new hospital is functional. The order has been communicated to key stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department, the District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, and the Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri, for necessary action and information.
The directive also informs the PA to Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, the PA to Hon’ble Chairman, DDC Rajouri, and the PA to Hon’ble MLA, Rajouri, ensuring all relevant authorities are updated on the development.
