HARDCORE DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED BY SAMBA POLICE WITH 79 MONEY GARLANDS & HEROIN TURNED OUT TO BE NOTORIOUS THIEF

Samba, Nov 27 : Hardcore drug peddler arrested by Samba police with seventy nine (79) money garlands & heroin turned out to be a notorious thief who had stolen money garlands from a shop at Banihal and was wanted by Banihal police in theft case.
The arrested hardcore drug peddler identified as Mohd Imran Khan s/o Ashraf Khan r/o Iqbal Colony Pattan Baramulla is reportedly a notorious thief wanted by police at several police stations and police is in constant touch with other police stations to gather more information regarding his criminal conduct.
Samba police had arrested hardcore drug peddler Imran Khan yesterday at Sarore in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and had seized as many as seventy nine (79) money garlands amounting to rupees 95,880.00 and heroin valuing rupess 45,000.00 approximately after conducting his personal search in the presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class and Gazetted Police Officer following proper legal procedure under NPDS Act.
As soon as the news regarding his arrest and recovery flashed, Banihal police contacted police authorities of Samba police and informed them regarding the theft of money garlands from a shop situated at Banihal and also shared video clips and photographs.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that there is correlation between heroin consumption & thefts. Drug peddlers and addicts from different corners of J&K are coming to infamous ‘chitta’ hotspots where patrolling has been intensified and police is apprehending the accused under NDPS Act and vagrants under preventive sections of law.
