HARDCORE THIEF COMMANDER INVOLVED IN 20 CASES DETAINED UNDER PSA IN SAMBA
Police is committed to save property of people : SSP Samba Benam Tosh
Samba, Jan 28 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police has detained and lodged in jail hardcore thief commander involved in twenty cases namely Mohd. Irshad alias "Shadu" of Teli Basti Bari Brahmana under Public Safety Act (PSA) in pursuance of detention order issued by District Magistrate Samba , Abhishek Sharma-IAS
The hardcore thief detained under PSA has been identified as Mohd. Irshad alias "Shadu" r/o Teli Basti Bari Brahmana.
Shadu ,who happens to be the son of a police officer (ASI) , was involved in as many as twenty (20) theft/ burglary cases in Bari Brahmana, Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Samba, Purmandal, Bahu Fort Jammu, Nagrota Jammu, Channi Himat Jammu, Gangyal Jammu and Katra in Reasi district. He was a habitual hardcore thief and his activities were prejudicial to maintenance of public order and peace. He had been functioning as self-styled commander of thieves and several thieves were operating at his instance.
In view of his repeated indulgence in commission of thefts, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, prepared and submitted dossier & other connected documents to the office of District Magistrate, Samba in respect of hardcore thief Mohd. Irshad alias “Shadu” for issuance of detention order under PSA. Upon this, DM Samba Abhishek Sharma-IAS issued detention order directing that Mehboob be detained and lodged in Jail.
Immediately after receiving the detention order, SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba Bhisham Dubey and Additional SSP Samba Surinder Choudhary detained the hardcore thief and lodged him in District Jail Kathua.
Shadu is the second hardcore thief detained and lodged in jail by Samba police under stringent PSA within a period of just three months. Earlier, top gang commander of thieves of Jammu division namely Mehboob Ahmed s/o Shamas Din r/o Doodla Basholi, district Kathua A/P Bari Barhmana was detained and lodged in Kathua jail by Samba police due to which people have taken a sigh of relief and further incidents of thefts have been decreased to a considerable extent. After Shadu’s detention, police will be able to secure property of the people across the district where he had been operating for long.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that Police is committed to save property of people and therefore, taking stringent legal action against thieves in Samba district including detention of big thief commanders under PSA so that fresh incidents of thefts could be curbed. Record 190 thieves have been arrested by Samba Police during the period of last one year .
