Heatwave Grips Jammu Region for Fifth Consecutive Day, Samba Hits 46.8°C

The Jammu region continues to reel under an unrelenting heatwave, with temperatures soaring for the fifth straight day on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Samba recorded a scorching 46.8°C, the highest in the region, while Jammu city sweltered at 44.5°C. Five districts breached the 40°C mark, intensifying concerns over the prolonged heatwave. Katra saw 40.4°C, Ramban and Kathua both hit 43.4°C, while Srinagar recorded a relatively milder 33.5°C. In contrast, Leh and Kargil remained cooler at 27.1°C and 28.0°C, respectively. Authorities have issued advisories urging residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
