India Asserts Jammu and Kashmir’s Status at UN in Strong Right of Reply to Pakistan
United Nations, New York – Exercising India’s Right of Reply at the United Nations on the issue of peacekeeping operations, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi delivered a firm response to Pakistan’s repeated statements concerning Jammu and Kashmir. In his address, Trivedi emphasized, “The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an integral part of India.”
Trivedi highlighted the recent democratic and electoral exercise in Jammu and Kashmir, where the people freely elected a new government, reaffirming the region’s democratic and constitutional alignment with India. He urged Pakistan to cease its “rhetoric and falsehood,” underscoring that such statements will not alter the historical and constitutional reality.
In a move to maintain the decorum of the UN platform, Trivedi concluded by stating that India would refrain from engaging further in response to any attempts by Pakistan to “abuse the UN procedures,” calling for constructive discourse within the forum.
India’s response at the UN underscores its unyielding position on Jammu and Kashmir, affirming the sovereignty and democratic process that underscores the region’s status as part of the Indian Union.
