The Indian Army has launched a significant cordon and search operation in the dense forests of Kota Top area in Gandoh, Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir. This action follows an incident where a police jawan was injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists. The search operation is ongoing, with the forces navigating through the challenging terrain to locate the terrorists.

This operation is part of broader efforts to counteract recent terrorist strikes in regions such as Hiranagar in Kathua district, Reasi, and Bhaderwah. In Reasi, terrorists ambushed a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. Additionally, in Udhampur’s Basantgarh area, a Village Defence Guard member was martyred during an anti-terrorist operation & the incidents of terrorism in Bhaderwah and Hiranager in Kathua district underscoring the ongoing threat in the region.
