The decision to operate “North East Discovery: Beyond Guwahati,” a customized tour by Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist train that covers India’s northernmost states. The 15-day train tour will begin at Delhi Safdarjung railway station on March 21, 2023, and it will travel through Assam’s Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Kaziranga, Tripura’s Unakoti, Agartala, and Udaipur, Nagaland’s Dimapur, Kohima, and Meghalaya’s Shillong, and Cherapunji.

This train takes 14 nights and 15 days to travel from Guwahati to Umananda Temple, Umananda Temple, and a Brahmaputra sunset cruise as its first stop. The next destination, Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, is 30 kilometers away from Naharlagun Railway Station, from which this train will continue its overnight journey. Sivasagar, the former capital of the Ahom Kingdom in the eastern part of Assam, is the next city. Along with other historic sites, the itinerary includes the well-known Shiva temple in Sivasagar, Sivadol. The tourists will also visit the tea gardens in Jorhat and Kaziranga for the night before going on a jungle safari in Kaziranga National Park in the early morning.

The Deluxe AC Tourist Train then heads to the state of Tripura from the Furkating Railway Station, where it will take passengers to the famous heritage sites of Unakoti and Agartala, including the well-known Ujjayanta Palace. The itinerary will include Udaipur’s Tripura Sundari mandir and Neermahal palace on the following day. Following Tripura, the train travels to Dimapur to visit Nagaland. From their seats, guests can observe the picturesque train ride from Badarpur station to Lumding Jn in the early morning hours. Tourists will take buses from Dimapur station to Kohima to see the local sights, including a tour of the Khonoma village to see how the Naga people live. Guwahati will be the next stop for the tourist train. From there, they will travel by road to Shillong, Meghalaya’s capital, stopping at the majestic Umium Lake along the way. The following day begins with a trip to Cherrapunji, which is located in the East Khasi Hills. The day’s sightseeing includes visits to Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Nawkhalikai Falls, and Mawsmai Caves. The tourists return to Guwahati Station from Cherrapunji to board the train for the return trip to Delhi. During the course of this tour, guests will travel by train approximately 5800 kilometers.

The launch of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train coincides with the government of India’s initiatives to promote domestic tourism, “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.” The IRCTC tourist train will be a 15-day all-inclusive tour package that starts at Rs. 1,06,990 per person for the AC 2 Tier, Rs. 1,31,990 per person for the AC 1 (Cabin), and Rs. 1,49,290 per person for the AC 1 (Coupe). The price will include the train journey in the respective class, a night’s stay at an AC hotel, all meals (VEG ONLY), all transfers and sight-seeing in buses, travel insurance IRCTC will make every effort to ensure that guests have a safe and memorable experience and will adhere to all necessary health precautions.

Guests over the age of 18 must receive a full vaccination (two doses) to ensure their safety in the current COVID 19 scenario. In addition, the IRCTC will offer all tourists a sanitizing face mask, hand gloves, and safety kit. Other precautions include frequent train sanitization at halt stations, regular temperature checks on all tourists and staff, and so on. After each meal service, the kitchen and restaurants must be cleaned thoroughly and the staff must be thoroughly screened
