Srinagar, June 4, 2025 – The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has terminated the services of Ajaz Ahmed, a teacher in the School Education Department, with immediate effect. The dismissal order, issued by the General Administration Department on June 3, 2025, cites concerns over the “security of the State” as the reason for the action, invoking sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India.

Ajaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh and resident of Sailan, Bufliyaz, Tehsil Surankote, District Poonch, was dismissed following a review of his activities by the Lieutenant Governor. The order, numbered 666-JK(GAD) of 2025, states that the Lieutenant Governor deemed it unnecessary to hold an inquiry in this case, given the security implications.

The decision has been communicated to several key officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, the Principal Secretary of the Home Department, the Director General of Police, and the Principal Accountant General, among others. Copies of the order have also been sent to the Secretary of the School Education Department, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, and Ajaz Ahmed himself. The order will also be uploaded to the General Administration Department’s website and filed in the government order stock file.
