Jammu and Kashmir Government Revises Upper Age Limits for Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024

Srinagar, November 9 , 2024 – The General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a notification (S.O. 539) outlining new upper age limits for candidates applying for the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024. This decision, as stated in the notification, is in line with clause (ii) of sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 2018, and has been approved by the Lieutenant Governor.

The notification specifies the maximum age limits for various categories of candidates as follows:

  1. Open Merit Candidates – The upper age limit for candidates in the open merit category is now 35 years.
  2. Reserved Category Candidates and In-Service Candidates – Reserved category candidates, as well as candidates currently in government service, have an upper age limit of 37 years.
  3. Physically Challenged Candidates – The maximum age limit for physically challenged candidates has been set at 38 years.

These adjustments in the age limits provide an additional opportunity for candidates from different backgrounds, allowing more individuals to qualify for the examination based on their category. For reserved and physically challenged candidates, these changes represent an effort to promote inclusivity within the recruitment process.

The decision aims to create a fair and inclusive recruitment framework, making the CCE 2024 more accessible to a broader spectrum of applicants across the Union Territory.

For further information, candidates are encouraged to check the official notification and remain updated with announcements from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
