Five Accused Identified, Police Seize Fortuner Vehicle
Gang Rivalry between Gugli Group and Chhotu Group
The police investigation into the Phalmandal firing case in Jammu is ongoing. Authorities have identified five accused individuals: Bashir, Diljot, Anu, and Rohit alias Rotu. A Fortuner vehicle was recovered from the house of one of the accused and has been brought to the police station. Currently, all the suspects are on the run, and police teams are actively searching for them.
In connection with the case, police have detained four individuals for questioning. These suspects are believed to have links with the attackers, but they claim they only received calls via WhatsApp. During the on-site investigation, police recovered three live rounds, suggesting that they were not fired at the scene. An FIR has been registered under case number 23, and a special investigation team has been assigned to handle the matter. Additionally, the role of a police officer, whose name has been linked to the case, is also under scrutiny.
Attack Near Mandal Panchayat House
According to reports, on Tuesday evening, a group of attackers arrived in an Alto car and vandalized two parked vehicles near Mandal Panchayat House. The assailants opened fire on Arun Chaudhary, Sachin Chaudhary, and Manmohan, who managed to escape unharmed. Following the attack, police teams arrived at the scene, registered the case, and initiated an investigation.
It has also been revealed that the attackers later posted about the incident on Instagram, taking responsibility for the attack. Investigations indicate that the attack was the result of an ongoing rivalry between the Gugli Group and Chhotu Group, with Rohit Seth alias Rotu allegedly masterminding the entire plan.
During questioning, it was discovered that the detained suspects were previously involved in an attack on a man named Raman and were out on bail in that case.
Police Statement on the Phalmandal Incident
Jammu Police issued an official statement addressing recent media reports linking the Phalmandal incident to gang wars. The statement clarified that the attackers used a 7.65mm caliber firearm to fire shots into the air with the intent to intimidate the opposing group. Additionally, they damaged parked vehicles using wooden sticks.
Police investigations have revealed that the root cause of the attack was a dispute over real estate business interests rather than a gang war.
FIR No. 23 has been registered at Satwari Police Station, and a professional investigation is underway. The police emphasized that this was a local dispute and should not be associated with organized gang violence.
Authorities continue their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure that such incidents do not escalate into larger conflicts.
