Jammu, February 24, 2025 – In a major operation against criminal activities, Jammu Police apprehended two wanted criminals and seized illegal arms and ammunition during a surprise naka (checkpoint) operation on Ring Road in the Miran Sahib area.

On February 23, police received credible information regarding three criminals—Rajat Raina alias Rishu, Raghunandan Kesar alias Raghu, and Goura Jatt—who allegedly fired shots at Swarn Palace, Miran Sahib, during a function before fleeing the scene. Following this, an FIR (No. 27/2025) under Sections 109/3(5) BNS and 3/25 Arms Act was registered, and an investigation was launched.

Acting swiftly, a police team led by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Jaipaul Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, set up a surprise checkpoint on Ring Road. Within hours, Rajat Raina and Raghunandan Kesar were arrested while traveling in a Thar vehicle (JK02DA-2525).

During the operation, police recovered two pistols, three live rounds, and one empty round, and the Thar vehicle was seized. However, the third accused, Goura Jatt, is still absconding, and efforts are underway to track him down.

The swift and strategic action by Jammu Police has dealt a serious blow to criminal elements in the region. The arrested individuals are currently being interrogated for their involvement in past crimes and possible links to organized gangs. Further investigations are ongoing.
