J&K Government Allocates ₹3.04 Crore for Chief Minister’s New Vehicles

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned ₹3.04 crore under the 2024-25 Capex Budget for the purchase of eight Toyota Fortuner vehicles for official use by the Chief Minister and related departments. According to Government Order No. [O]—JK(TR) of 2024, dated December 20, 2024, the funds are released to the State Motor Garages Department.

Details of the Purchase:

Quantity: 8 Toyota Fortuner vehicles.

Cost Per Vehicle:

₹34 lakh for 4 Fortuner 4×2 AT vehicles (Total ₹1.36 crore).

₹42 lakh for 4 Fortuner 4×4 vehicles (Total ₹1.68 crore).

Total Amount: ₹3.04 crore.

Conditions for Fund Utilization:

  1. No idle parking of funds will be allowed.
  2. No additional posts (such as drivers) will be created under this order.
  3. The funds must be utilized strictly for the intended purpose following e-tendering processes and General Financial Rules (GFR).
  4. No re-appropriation or diversion of funds is permitted.
  5. Utilization Certificates must be submitted before March 31, 2025.

The State Motor Garages Department has been tasked with ensuring the proper use of the allocated funds, adhering to all procurement rules and formalities.
