J&K Government Announces Revised DA Rate of 53% for Employees and Pensioners

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued an official order revising the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees and pensioners. Effective from July 1, 2024, the DA has been increased from 50% to 53% of the basic pay, as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

The announcement was made through Government Order No. 28-F of 2025, dated January 27, 2025. Key highlights of the order include:

  1. Revised DA Implementation: The revised DA rate will be applicable from July 1, 2024.
  2. Arrears Payment: Arrears for the additional installment of DA from July 2024 to December 2024 will be disbursed in cash during February 2025. These arrears will form part of the monthly salary from January 2025 onwards.
  3. Payment Conditions: In cases where arrears involve a fractional amount of less than 50 paise, it will be rounded off to the next higher rupee.

The decision is expected to benefit thousands of government employees and pensioners across the union territory. The order was issued by Santosh D. Vaidya, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department.
