J&K POLICE FOILS BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT: RESCUES 05 BOVINES

Samba, May 9: J&K Police has today foiled bovine smuggling attempt during the early morning hours in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, district Samba and rescued five bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.

A Police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW naka Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Pickup bearing registration number JK08M-7187 coming from Kathua side for checking. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. However, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. All the rescued bovines has been  shifted to safer place.

A case FIR No. 64/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
