J&K POLICE FOILS TWO BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS, RESCUED 14 BOVINES
Samba, May 5: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, J&K Police has foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Sub-Division Samba and rescued fourteen bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Police teams of Police Post Rajpura headed by Incharge PP Rajpura and Border Police Post Babbar Nallah headed by Incharge BPP Babbar Nallah in a joint operation have successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt during the intervening night of 4/5-05-2024 and rescued eleven bovines which were being smuggled by foot near Babbar Nallah. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to safer place. However, the bovine smugglers managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
A case FIR No. 59/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Likewise, a police party of Police Post Rakh Amb Talli headed by Incharge Police Post Rakh Amb Talli during vehicle checking at special Naka established at Chack Dayala, signalled to stop a Mahindra Bolero Pick up bearing registration No. JK21A-3990 for its checking. The driver instead of stopping the vehicle, accelerated the speed and hit the vehicle with road divider causing an accident. On checking, three bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
A case FIR No.124/2024 U/S 188/279 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
