Minister Satish Sharma Tours Chhamb Constituency: Launches Key Development Projects

Maira Mandrian, Jammu, May 17, 2025: In a significant push for regional development, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science and Technology, Satish Sharma, conducted an extensive tour of the Chhamb constituency on Friday, May 16, 2025. Demonstrating the government’s commitment to public welfare, the Minister laid the foundation stone for a Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Maira Mandrian and inaugurated several public utility projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and amenities.
The BPHU, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 45 lakh, is set to bolster healthcare services in the region, providing improved access to medical facilities for residents. During the tour, Minister Sharma also dedicated open coolers for public use at Maira Mandrian Bus Stand, Nardi Panchayat, and Government Ayurvedic College, Akhnoor, ensuring access to clean drinking water for travelers, students, and the general public.
Engaging directly with the community, the Minister addressed large gatherings at Panchayat Godhan, Payan, and PHC Maira Mandrian. He listened attentively to residents’ concerns, which included issues related to link roads, school upgrades, staff shortages in schools and PHCs, irregular power supply, electricity billing, ration card issuance, irrigation, and transport facilities. Assuring swift action, Sharma directed concerned officials to prioritize the redressal of these grievances and expedite ongoing development works without compromising quality.
“Equitable development and providing basic amenities to the people are the top priorities of our government,” said Minister Sharma, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to addressing public needs. His proactive engagement and hands-on approach were warmly received by locals, who expressed optimism about the region’s development trajectory.
