More than 11,000 houses have developed cracks & more than 2000 collapsed in Himachal: Suresh C Attri, Principal Scientific Officer, Department of Environment

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: Suresh C Attri, Principal Scientific Officer, Department of Environment, says, “As per my information, there are more than 11,000 houses which have developed cracks & more than 2000 have collapsed” He further said,” We were not expecting this kind of rainfall and this kind of intensity. It has come very fast. The Climate Change Action Plan was adopted by the state in December 2021 and this is the framework and climate change action plan till 2030. And I am confident that all the departments which are developmental departments, they are consulting the document and they know that this is what has been indicated and the infrastructure which is to be put in place has to be climate resilient.”
