Mysterious Deaths in Budhal: Yasmeen Akhter’s Critical Condition Highlights Urgent Need for Advanced Medical Care
Rajouri, January 19 – Yasmeen Akhter, a 15-year-old girl from the village of Budhal, remains in critical condition following a series of mysterious deaths that have claimed 16 lives in the region, including five of her own siblings. Yasmeen, the only surviving child of Mohd Aslam, is fighting for her life as her family urgently appeals for her transfer to a specialized medical facility like PGI Chandigarh or AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment.
The escalating crisis in Budhal, which has left families shattered and the community on edge, has drawn the attention of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. On Saturday, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level meeting to address the alarming situation, expressing deep concern over the mysterious illness and the rising death toll.
“The unexplained nature of these deaths is deeply concerning. The government is fully committed to identifying the root cause at the earliest. I urge all departments to collaborate and ensure that no effort is spared in resolving this issue,” the Chief Minister stated.
The health department has been actively present in the area for the past 40 days, providing ambulances, medicines, and essential facilities. However, the situation remains critical, with local families continuing to fear for their lives.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the health and police departments to expedite their investigations and ensure immediate measures to prevent further casualties. Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the health and safety of its citizens.
