Mysterious Drugs Supply Module in Central Jail Kot Balwal busted: Three accused arrested, sharp edged weapons recovered

Cosco ball is used for supplying drugs

Akhnoor, Dec. 4:The police teams of Akhnoor police have solved sensational drugs supply module in central Jail Kot Balwal .

On 22-11-2023, an information was received at police station Gharota that a Cosco ball has been found in premises of central jail Kot Balwal during routine searches of premises and on opening of this narcotics ( heroin like)wrapped in capsules and a pen drive have been found. On this the case fir no 92/2023 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act & section 42 of Prison Act was registered and investigation was started.

On 28-11-2023, again information regarding recovery of a cosco ball in the premises of Central Jail Kot Balwal was received and on opening it narcotics ( heroin like) wrapped in polyethyene was found.in this regard case fir no 97/2023 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act and section 42 of Prisons Act was registered at police station Gharota and investigation was taken up.
Sensing the gravity of situation and frequency of incidents in sensitive location a special team headed by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan sharma , SHO Akhnoor Zaheer Mushtaq , SHO Gharota Joginder Singh was constituted by Sp Rural Rahul Charak
The special team activated human intelligence system and collected all technical data of jail periphery.
The team also conducted a survey of jail inmates mates who were lodged in jail in recent past.

While collecting important information both human and technical and corroborating same with records of jail inmates, police team got vital leads . After proper identification of suspects police teams conducted many raids and arrested three accuseds from different places of jammu.
During questioning the accuseds have confessed their involvement in the crimes.

From their possession two sharp edged weapons ( Tokas) and a vehicle bearing registration no JK02AV/1441 has also been recovered.
The accuseds have been identified as :
1)Rahul kumar @ Sundi s/o Bishan Dass r/o Makhanpur Bishnah
2) Rahul kumar @ Daku s/o Som Nath r/o Kothi khour Mira Sahib
3) Arjun kumar @ Shotu s/o Sham lal r/o Koliyan R S pura .
The investigation is still going on and more arrests are expected in the days to come .
