National Lok Adalat Organized at District Court Samba Premises: Settlement of 683 Cases with a Total Recovery of ₹1,37,85,160

Samba, 14 December: A National Lok Adalat was organized in the District Court premises under the guidance of Justice N. Kotwal, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba, and under the overall supervision of Arvind Sharma, Secretary DLSA Samba.

In the National Lok Adalat, five benches were constituted to resolve cases. These benches were led by judicial officers, and the cases were resolved amicably through mutual understanding and compromise. In total, 683 cases were disposed of, leading to a recovery amount of ₹1,37,85,160.

During this Lok Adalat, various cases related to pre-litigation, pending court matters, civil suits, bank recovery, traffic challans, matrimonial disputes, electricity and water bill disputes, land acquisition cases, and other compoundable offenses were settled.

The first bench was chaired by District and Sessions Judge, Arvind Sharma, while the second bench included Sub-Judge Ram Prakash and Munsiff Sanjeev Kumar. The third bench, fourth, and fifth benches also saw participation from other judicial officers, lawyers, and mediators who played a vital role in resolving disputes amicably.

During the proceedings, a large number of litigants expressed their satisfaction with the settlement of their cases and appreciated the efforts made by the judicial officers and the District Legal Services Authority.

In conclusion, 947 cases were taken up in this Lok Adalat, of which 683 cases were settled with great success, achieving both legal and social justice goals.
