Night checking/ Area domination of district Samba conducted by DIG JSK Range

On August 29, 2024, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, led a night checking and area domination operation in Samba district. This operation was part of a broader security strategy to ensure a peaceful environment ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. During the patrol, DIG Sharma was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Vinay Kumar, and other senior officers.

The operation involved intensive security checks at various Naka points and a review of the operational readiness of the police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. The DIG emphasized the importance of maintaining high vigilance, particularly along the sensitive Samba-Kathua border, and stressed the need for synergy between police forces and the BSF to bolster security during the election period.
