Notorious Criminal Bagh Ali Injured in Encounter with Police During Weapon Recovery
In Bishnah, a dramatic encounter unfolded on Monday night near Ring Road when police engaged with notorious criminal Bagh Ali, alias Sunny, while attempting to recover weapons based on his information. Bagh Ali, a wanted criminal with a long record, was arrested by police in Haryana and brought to Jammu. During the operation in a secluded area, he attacked police personnel with handcuffs, injuring two officers, Mangat Ram and Arun Sharma, and attempted to snatch their weapons.
In self-defense, police fired three to four rounds, hitting Bagh Ali in the leg. The incident caused a stir in the area. SDPO R.S. Pura Gurmeet Singh, along with SHOs from Miran Sahib and Bishnah, rushed to the scene with reinforcements. Bagh Ali and the injured officers were taken to Bishnah Sub-District Hospital for primary treatment, after which Bagh Ali was referred to GMC Jammu for further medical care.
A History of Crime and Escapes
Bagh Ali, a resident of Balol Nala, Kikri Morh, Bari Brahmana, originally from Laswara, Bishnah, is wanted in multiple cases across Jammu, Samba, and even Himachal Pradesh. With 30 FIRs registered against him, including eight for attacks on police teams, his criminal record includes charges of attempted murder, murder, robbery, illegal arms possession, kidnapping, rioting, criminal conspiracy, obstructing public servants, and other serious offenses. Notably, he recently attacked the SHO of Bari Brahmana. Bagh Ali has a history of evading police custody multiple times, but was recently apprehended in Haryana. During interrogation, he confessed to possessing weapons, leading to the police operation in Bishnah where he attempted to escape, resulting in the encounter.
