Notorious Drug-Peddler arrested: 5.24 gms Heroin recovered by Poonch Police
Poonch Dec 4: In its ongoing fight against the menace of drugs, Poonch police today achieved a success when it apprehended one notorious drug peddler and recovered 5.24 gms of chitta (Heroin like substance) from their possession. Police laid a Naka on Haakia academy for vehicle checking. A white-coloured Murati car bearing registration no. JK02AX-3068 coming from Haakia academy side was stopped for checking on checking.one person driving the car started behaving suspiciously which created suspicion in the minds of police party present on Naka.
On checking, 5.24 gms of chitta (heroin like substance) was recovered from the possession of driver who disclosed his identity as Aayat Raza S/o Iftkhar Hussain R/O Vill. Loyal Bala Teh. Mandi A/P Ward No 4 Poonch Tehsil haveli Distt Poonch. The peddler was arrest immediately on spot and vehicle seized.In this connection, case FIR No. 209/2023 U/S 8/21/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Poonch. Investigation of the case has been set into motion to unearth the forward/backward linkages. Subject is a notorious drug peddler who used to supply chitta to innocent youths of poonch town and it’s surrounding police was after him since last around 15 day and today he was apprehended when he was going to supply chitta to innocent youths of poonch . Police team led by SHO P/S Poonch *Insp. Deepak Pathania assisted by SI Abdul Aziz* made the recovery/arrests under the supervision of *Sh. Afrat* *Hussain Dy SP Hqrs. Poonch, Sh. Mushim Ahmed ASP Poonch* and overall supervision of *Sh. Vinay Kumar SSP* *Poonch* . Poonch police appeals to common people to come forward regarding any information related to drugs so that this menace is uprooted completely from the society and our young generation is saved from this deadly menace.
