In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, now the application for gun license will be done online only.  In fact, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has now instructed people desirous of getting a new gun license or renewal of the old one to apply online only.  The Home Department of Jammu and Kashmir has also issued orders in this context, in which now gun license applications can be made only on the portal. To apply for gun licenses, one has to go to https://ndalalis.gov.in.  Instructions have been given to apply only through the portal.  Along with this, the government has also advised the applicant to read the guidelines and rules issued for obtaining or renewing gun license before making his application.  The applicant has to select the individual category as well as select the district from which he wants to get the license issued. The applicant can choose any of the services offered on the portal, including issue or renewal of individual arms licence, extension of validity of the area and registration of arms license issued from other states and union territories.  The portal will guide the applicant to upload all the details including required documents.  Applicants can track the status of their applications on the portal. The government has asked applicants to avoid providing incomplete or incorrect information while seeking or renewing arms licences.  The government has given instructions not to give any wrong or false information.  Do not apply in a district which is not your domicile.  Do not carry arms if you do not have a valid arms license.  Do not allow any unauthorized person to keep your license or weapon. A big case of fake gun license has come to the fore in Jammu and Kashmir.  The names of three IES officers have also surfaced in this case, against whom the CBI has registered a case.  The CBI is also seeking approval from the government to take action against these officers, which is pending before the Jammu and Kashmir government.
