POLICE ARRESTS FOUR DRUG PEDDLERS WITH 56 GMS HEROIN LIKE SUBSTANCE

Samba, September 29:

Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and their propagators, Police has arrested four drug peddlers and recovered approximately 56 grams heroin like substance from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.

A police party of Police Post Supwal under SHO PS Samba while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Supwal, intercepted a truck bearing regd No. JK13D/5061 enroute Punjab for checking. During checking, Heroin (Chitta) like substance worth 16.80 lacs INR approximately was recovered from the possession of four persons who were boarding the said truck.

All the four accused persons have been arrested and the contraband item was also seized. The arrested accused have been identified as:

1. Mohd Aqib Bhat S/o Mohd Amin Bhat R/o Qamarwari Parimpora Srinagar
2. Mohd Imran Mantoo S/o Abdul Ahad Mantoo R/o Chandgam Tehsil &Dist. Pulwama
3. Sahil Rashid S/o Abdul Rashid Sheikh R/o Tumlahall Tehsil and District Pulwama
4. Fayaz Ahmed Dar S/o Ghulam Mohd Dar R/o Tengpora Tehsil and District Pulwama

A case FIR No. 257/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation is going on to unearth backward/forward linkage in narco smuggling.
