POLICE NEWS: DRUG PEDDLER NABBED WITH 2.50 GRAMS HEROIN LIKE SUBSTANCE BY POLICE
Samba, May 10: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and recovered 2.50 grams approximately heroin like substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Station Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur during vehicle checking at NHW Naka AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a scooty bearing registration No. JK21C-7020 for its checking. During checking, 2.50 grams approximately heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of said scooty rider.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Mohinder Kumar S/o Mohan Lal R/o Vijaypur.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 64/2024 U/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur. Further investigation of the case is going on.
GIRL WITH UNSOUND MIND FROM KATHUA REUNITED WITH FAMILY BY POLICE
Samba, May 10: Police has reunited a girl with unsound mind of age about 22 yrs from district Kathua with her family who was roaming in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
An information for reliable sources was received at Police Station Samba that a girl was roaming on National Highway near Chichi Mata Temple, Samba during the intervening night of 09/10-05-2024. Acting over the information, a police party of Police Station Samba headed by SHO PS Samba alongwith Incharge Police Post SIDCO Samba and lady police official immediately reached the spot, traced the said girl and safely brought her to PP SIDCO. The girl happened to be of unsound mind and did not know about her whereabouts. On questioning about her identity, she hardly divulge her name.
After hectic efforts, Police was able to trace her whereabouts, contacted her family members and today handed over her to her father after completing all legal formalities.
The family members thanked the Police for their arduous efforts in reuniting the girl with the family.
