Preparations Reviewed for Baba Chamliyal Mela on June 26

Samba, June 23, 2025:
MLA Ramgarh, Dr. Davinder Kumar Manyal, and Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sh. Rajesh Sharma (JKAS), today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the annual Baba Chamliyal Mela, scheduled to be held on June 26 at the revered Baba Chamliyal shrine.

Key arrangements discussed included security, traffic management, emergency services, healthcare deployment, and lighting installations. A control room will be established to assist pilgrims and ensure interdepartmental coordination.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed concerned departments to repair potholes on approach roads and directed the Police and Transport Departments to identify parking locations and install directional signage. The Transport Department was also asked to ensure smooth transportation facilities for yatris.

The PHE Department was directed to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water, supplemented by additional tankers, while the PDD will ensure continuous power supply and lighting. The Tourism Department was asked to install informative hoardings and banners to guide and inform visitors. A monitoring committee will oversee the quality and pricing of food items.

The meeting was attended by SSP Samba, GM DIC, XENs of various departments, SDM, Tehsildar, officials from the civil administration, and local representatives.
