Principal Secretary Higher Education Chairs Public Darbar at Samba

Principal Secretary Higher Education, Alok Kumar, today chaired a public darbar at the Community Hall Municipality Samba to address public grievances and demands while assessing ongoing development works in the district. During the event, participants raised several issues, seeking timely intervention for their resolution. The key concerns included the improvement of road connectivity from Mohargarh to Mansar, inclusion of crate works in development plans, frequent electricity cuts, manpower deficiencies in the PHE, Municipality, and Health Departments, installation of CCTV cameras at main chowks, repair of ground water pumps, leveling of the ground at HS Gaghwal, renovation and beautification of ponds, filling vacancies for lecturers, and construction of lane drains in the municipality area. The general public also appreciated the district administration’s efforts, particularly the proactive approach of the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments, and the commendable initiatives taken by DC Samba. Principal Secretary Alok Kumar attentively listened to the grievances and discussed them with the concerned officers, reviewing written representations from the public. He directed the rationalization of staff in departments with manpower shortages, installation of solar panels to reduce the electricity burden, and advised availing the subsidy facility for solar installations. He reassured that genuine matters would be addressed through the relevant departments, reiterating the government’s commitment to the district’s development. Concluding the event, DC Samba, Abhishek Sharma, briefed the chair on the grievances highlighted in previous darbars, noting that connectivity issues for villages through PMGSY and NABARD have been included in the development plan. He mentioned that out of 130, 63 schemes under JJM have been completed in Samba district and directed essential service departments to address issues with accountability. The event witnessed participation from notable figures, including DDC members, ADDC Samba Champa Devi, ADC Samba Suresh Chander, and various district officers.
