Protest Held in Samba Against Targeted Killings and Temple Vandalism in Bangladesh
Samba, December 8: A massive protest march was organized in Samba town today, drawing participants from all walks of life, to condemn the recent killings of Hindus and the vandalization of temples in Bangladesh. The march began at Veer Bhomi Park and culminated at Samba Chowk, where protestors expressed their outrage and solidarity with the victims.
The march saw a significant turnout of residents, including prominent leaders and public figures. Former MLAs Surjeet Singh Slathia and Chander Prakash Ganga addressed the gathering, voicing their deep concern over the atrocities in Bangladesh. They called for immediate international intervention to ensure the safety and security of minorities in the neighboring country.
Participants carried banners and chanted slogans demanding justice for the victims, urging the global community to take cognizance of the rising violence against Hindus and the desecration of religious sites.
Speaking at the event, MLA Surjeet Singh Slathia said, “The attacks on Hindus and temples in Bangladesh are a blatant violation of human rights. The international community must step in to hold the perpetrators accountable.”
MLA Chander Prakash Ganga added, “We stand united with our Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh. Their pain is our pain, and we will not remain silent until justice is served.”
The protest concluded peacefully, with participants submitting a memorandum to local authorities to be forwarded to higher governmental and international bodies.
The march reflects the need for cross-border solidarity and awareness to address the plight of minorities facing persecution in Bangladesh.
