Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Degree College celebrates Teachers’ Day

SAMBA, AUGUST 05: A district level Teachers’ Day celebration function was held today in Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Degree College Samba. The event was hosted by District administration Samba in collaboration with School Education Department.

District Development Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma was the Chief Guest of the program which also witnessed the attendance of Additional District Development Commissioner, S. Rajinder Singh (Guest of Honour), Chief Education Officer, Kewal Krishan, Principal Degree College Samba, Twinkle Suri, Associate Professors from Degree College Samba, Principal of Government Hr. Secondary schools and Zonal Education Officers of the district and several Retired Officials i.e Retired Principals, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers and working Principals, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers students from various Schools attended the Programme.

The program commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a scintillating cultural show. “Saraswathi Vandana” was presented by the students of Government Girls HSS Samba, while Students of High School Naran presented Dogri dance and Students of Government Girls HSS Tapasvi devoted a song to all teachers.

The Chief Guest, in his address, stressed upon the Teachers to arrange interactions and plan sessions for discussing Human Values with the students.

Deedar Singh, Rtd Principal, Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Lecturer (DICC) delivered a detailed lecture on New Education Policy 20-20, while Shakti Kumar Sharma spoke on the significance of “Teachers Day”.

All retiree Principals, Head master, Master and Teachers were also honoured by Chief Guest and Chief Education Officer Samba.

Chief Education Officer presented vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, students and media persons.

The programme concluded with recitation of National Anthem by all the participants.
