JAMMU, February 10, 2025 – In a significant development, Raghav Langer and Sushma Chauhan are among 16 IAS officers from the 2009 batch who have been empaneled as Joint Secretaries in the Government of India. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, cleared the file yesterday after six months of intense scrutiny.

Raghav Langer, who hails from Jammu & Kashmir, has held key positions in the Union Territory, including Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Secretary Planning, and Deputy Commissioner Kathua.

Sushma Chauhan, an IAS officer from the erstwhile J&K cadre, has served in pivotal roles such as Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Samba.

As per sources, only 16 officers out of a batch of 120 IAS officers from 2009 have been empaneled, highlighting the stringent selection process. This empanelment paves the way for these officers to take up key policy-making roles at the national level.

The development is seen as a recognition of their administrative acumen and contributions to governance.
