Reasi Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Abuse: Two Arrested with Heroin

Reasi, 25 March: Continuing its relentless fight against drug abuse, Reasi Police today arrested two individuals and seized heroin-like substances during naka (checkpoint) operations at Trintha, Reasi.
In the first incident, a police team from Police Station Reasi, during routine checking at Trintha Reasi at 5:30 PM, apprehended an accused identified as Chandan, son of Kartar Nath, resident of Gran Barotrian, currently residing in Geeta Nagar, Reasi. A total of 0.70 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. Following this, a case under FIR No. 52/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi, and investigations are underway to trace the supply network.

Second Arrest in Trintha Leads to Bigger Seizure
In another operation at the same naka, police arrested Vikram Singh alias Sahil, son of Sundar Singh, resident of Trintha, Reasi, and recovered 2.80 grams of heroin-like substance from him. Subsequently, FIR No. 54/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi, and further investigation has been launched to establish forward and backward linkages.
Police Committed to Eradicating Drug Menace
The anti-drug operation was led by SHO Police Station Reasi, Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the supervision of Dy. SP HQ Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal and Additional SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS.
Sharing details of the operation, SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh-JKPS, emphasized that the Reasi Police is working on a multi-pronged strategy to combat drug abuse, illicit liquor trade, and other criminal activities. He assured that stringent action will be taken against drug peddlers, and all efforts will be made to eliminate this menace from society.
Reasi Police has urged the public to report any information regarding drug trafficking and assured that identities of informants will be kept confidential.
