REASI POLICE TIGHTEN NOOSE ON NARCOTICS SMUGGLERS, CHARAS LIKE SUBSTANCE RECOVERED: NARCOTICS SMUGGLER ARRESTED
Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi, today a Police Party of Police Station Pouni, while on traffic checking/frisking duty in Domail, Pouni area stopped for checking an Alto car bearing Regd no. JK17/ 2289 which was coming from Reasi side towards Bhambla . During checking of the said vehicle, Charas likewise substance wrapped inside maize husk(weighing 2.24 Kgs including maize husk) was recovered from the window panels of the car . On enquiry,the driver of the vehicle disclosed his name as Javaid Ahmed Mir S/o Ghulam Rasool Mir R/o Melhoora, Shopian.
On this, a Case FIR No 03/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act got registered at P/S Pouni and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
The whole operation of recovery of the Charas was carried out by the team led by SHO P/S Pouni Insp. Purab Singh assisted by IC PP Bhambla PSI Jasbir Singh, under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Reasi Sh.Neeraj Padyar.
