Renowned Kashmiri shawl weaver Farooq Ahmed Mir awarded Padam Shri Award
President Droupadi Murmu presents Padma Shri in the field of Art to Shri Farooq Ahmad Mir. He is a renowned Kashmiri shawl weaver and a multi weaver. Shri Mir made the weaving procedure simple. He invented designs with new techniques. He invented Hindi, Urdu and Sanskrit calligraphy in Kani weaving. He provided livelihood to countless people directly or indirectly.
