Samba admin targets to cover 47382 children during 3-day IPPP campaign
SAMBA, FEBRUARY 28: District Administration Samba has kick started the Three Day Pulse Polio Vaccination Program to eradicate polio cases and also increase protection from its recurrence.
The campaign was inaugurated by District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, here at District Hospital on the other day. He administered polio drops to the children present on the occasion.
The Chairman was accompanied by Vice Chairman DDC Balwan Singh and other local DDC members.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta informed that on the first day polio drops will be administered to children of 0 to 5 year age at 332 polio booths. “Our target is to cover 47382 children in three days including a door to door campaign in the next two days. She informed that a detailed plan has been chalked out for covering children in inaccessible areas including slums, Brick Klins, industrial area, construction sites, nomads etc. “Work force of 1328 persons including health department, ICDS, Army, Education department, NGOs and others for achieving desired results added DC samba.
11 mobile teams have also been deployed to cover high risk areas including transit points.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sanjay Turki, Medical Superintendent DH Samba Dr. Vinod Koul, District Information Officer Ajay Sharma, besides other BMOs and locals were also present.
