SAMBA POLICE ARRESTED 10 NOTORIOUS ACCUSED INVOLVED IN THEFTS, BOVINE SMUGGLING, BOOTLEGGING & MISCHIEFS

189 thieves, 122 bovine smugglers arrested in short span : SSP Samba Benam Tosh

Samba, Jan 20 : Samba Police has arrested ten (10) notorious accused involved in thefts, bovine smuggling, bootlegging and mischiefs in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, PS Ramgarh and PS Purmandal. 

    The arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar s/o Ramesh Kumar r/o Katli Samba, Kurshid Ali s/o Mohd Rafiq r/o Krishanpur Korga Patrari tehsil Dansal district Jammu, Rafaqat Kalis s/o Shareef Kalis r/o Anantnag, Imran Qurashi s/o  Mohd Sharief Qurashi r/o Anantnag, Jagdeep Kumar s/o Madan Lal r/o Dagore tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Adar Din  s/o Sharif  r/o Spral Pian tehsil Marheen district Kathua, Angrez Singh s/o Joginder Singh r/o Dessian Surara tehsil Ghagwal district Samba and three more  accused.

The notorious thieves namely Rakesh Kumar and Kurshid Ali have been arrested in Case FIR No. 21/2024 u/s 379, 411 IPC registered at Police Station Samba and stolen bike has been recovered from their possession.

The notorious bovine smugglers namely Rafaqat Kalis and Imran Qurashi have been arrested in Case FIR No. 22/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Samba through PP Mansar and police has rescued bovine animals, whereas bovine smugglers Jagdeep Kumar & Adar Din who were evading arrest have been arrested in case FIR No. 10/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No. 125/2023 u/s 279, 429, 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act., 177 MV Act registered at Police Station Samba respectively.

The accused bootlegger Angrez Singh has been arrested in case FIR No. 16/2024 u/s 48 (a)/49(b)/48(e) Excise Act registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Goran. Police has destroyed 320 litres of lahan on the spot and seized seven (07) litres of illicit desi liquor alongwith distillation material in the instant case.

Two more notorious accused  were arrested in case FIR No. 01/2024 u/s 297, 188 IPC of PS Purmandal and  in case FIR No. 01/2024 u/s 435, 436 IPC of PS Ramgarh. 

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, a total of one hundred eighty nine (189) thieves and one hundred twenty two (122) bovine smugglers have been arrested in short span of time. Police is taking strong action against notorious anti-social elements involved in thefts, bovine smuggling, mischiefs and other criminal activities in the district and criminals involved are being booked under law, added SSP Samba.
