SAMBA POLICE ARRESTED 3 NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLERS: RESCUED 25 ANIMALS
108 NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED IN ELEVEN MONTHS: SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH
Samba, Dec 31 : Continuing stringent legal action against bovine smugglers, Samba police has arrested three notorious bovine smugglers, rescued twenty five bovine animals and seized four vehicles in separate bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal and PS Samba.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Manzoor Ali s/o Sultan Din r/o Mangloor district Kathua, Gafoor Din s/o Sharif Din r/o Jhanda district Samba and Sain Mohd s/o Satu Din r/o Mohargarh district Samba.
Two bovine smugglers namely Gafoor and Sain have been arrested in FIR registered at Police Station Samba, whereas third accused namely Manzoor has been arrested in FIR registered at Police Station Ghagwal through Police Post Rajpura.
Six cases --- FIR No. 117/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 118/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No.121/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 122/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No.296/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Samba and FIR No. 315/2023 u/s 188 IPC of PS Samba have been registered and police raids are underway to arrest all accused.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, a total of one hundred eight (108) notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past eleven months after the launch of special drive, eighty nine (89) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, seventy seven (77) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and eight hundred thirty eight` (838) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
