SAMBA POLICE ARRESTED 6 ACCUSED INVOLVED IN ILLICIT DRUG TRADE, CRIME AGAINST WOMAN & TIMBER SMUGGLING
Samba, July 16 : Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested (06) persons involved in illicit drug trade, crime against woman & timber smuggling in four different cases registered in the district and Charas, Opium straw, Timber has been seized.
The arrested accused persons have been identified as Jagpal Singh s/o Jaimal Singh r/o Teda tehsil and district Samba, Sumeer Kumar s/o Buchi Lal r/o Chakra Chack Parotian tehsil Hiranagar district Kathua, Vinay Sharma s/o Girdhari Lal r/o Supwal district Samba, Om parkash s/o Chajju Ram r/o Muthi Khurd Ghagwal district Samba, Anil & Deepak.
While three accused namely Jagpal Singh s/o Jaimal Singh r/o Teda tehsil and district Samba, Anil & Deepak were arrested under relevant sections of NDPS Act, Vinay & Om were arrested for assault on girl student & others and Sumeer was arrested for timber smuggling.
Four separate cases – FIR No. 177/2023 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act P/S Samba, FIR No. 172/2023 u/s 8/15/20/27/29 NDPS Act P/S Samba, FIR No. 56/2023 u/s 379 IPC & 26 Forest Act and FIR No. 174/2023 u/s 307/323/147/148 IPC.
The accused were arrested by the police teams headed by I/C PP Goran PSI Sajid Jaral, I/C PP Supwal PSI Deepika Jalotra, SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Police Station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Samba Garu Ram & Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that stringent action under law is being taken against the perpetrators of crime related to drugs, crime against women & smuggling of any kind in the district and whosoever found involved is being arrested following proper procedure under law.
