SAMBA POLICE DISMANTLES INTER-ZONE GANG OF THIEVES, EIGHT ARRESTED: PROPERTY WORTH 11 LAKHS RECOVERED

Samba, April 7: In a significant breakthrough, Samba Police has apprehended a total of eight individuals involved in a sophisticated inter-zone theft operation, following a diligent investigation into a reported case of theft at Police Station Samba.

The case unfolded when a lady namely Ms. Renu Sharma of Mahal Shah, Ramgarh, reported an incident where her gold ornaments were stolen during a bus journey from Vijaypur to Samba.
Promptly responding to the complaint, Samba Police initiated an investigation, registering FIR No. 73/2024 U/S 379 IPC and commenced investigation.

Under the direct supervision of SSP Samba, specialized teams, comprising DySP Hqrs Samba, SHO PS Samba, and IC PP Supwal, launched coordinated efforts leading to the identification and apprehension of three primary suspects by using technical and physical surveillance – Shameema, Tahira, and Fayaz Ahmed, all residents of A/P Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
Subsequent interrogations unveiled a wider network involving Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Mohd Altaf Sheikh R/O Parimpora Ghat, Srinagar, and Darshan Lal of Arnia, Jammu, who were swiftly detained for questioning leading to recovery of few stolen gold ornaments.

Further revelations from Abdul Rashid Sheikh and Mohd Altaf Sheikh led to the arrest of Shahnawaz Hussain and Imtiyaz Hussain Mir R/O Sultanpora, Pattan Baramulla, Kashmir, who were found to have purchased the stolen gold jewellery.
A comprehensive recovery of substantial amount of stolen items, including Gold Bracelets, Chains, Rings, and other valuables, totaling approximately 11 lakh rupees has been effected.

Further inquiries are underway as the case progresses.
