SAMBA POLICE FOILS 02 BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS; ARRESTS BOVINE SMUGGLER, RESCUES 09 BOVINES

Samba: March 19, 2026: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, arrested bovine smuggler and rescued nine bovines. The vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of bovines have also been seized.

Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a Dumper bearing registration No. JK19A-3235 for its checking. During checking, six bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and the vehicle involved in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.

A case FIR No. 30/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.

In another incident, a Police team of PS Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt and rescued three bovines which were being smuggled in a Mahindra Load Carrier bearing registration No. JK02DC-4865.

The bovine smuggler identified as Arif Husain S/o Nazir Ahmed R/o Upper Chowadi Sainik Colony Jammu has been arrested and the vehicle involved has also been seized.

A case FIR No.31/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
