SAMBA POLICE FOILS BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT: RESCUES 16 BOVINES, SEIZES VEHICLE

Samba, February 15: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued sixteen bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. The vehicle used for illegal transportation of bovines was also seized.
An information was received at Police Station Ghagwal from reliable sources regarding smuggling of bovines in a truck bearing registration No. JK02AU-9918 coming from Kathua side. Acting on information, a Police team headed by SHO Police Station Ghagwal successfully intercepted the said truck at Naka Tapyal NHW Ghagwal for its checking. During checking, sixteen bovines found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer place.
A case FIR No. 26/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
