SAMBA POLICE FOILS BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT: RESCUES 5 BOVINES, SEIZES VEHICLE
Samba, December 25: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, rescued five bovines and seized vehicle used for illegal transportation of bovines.
A Police team headed by SHO PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, signalled to stop a Mahindra load Carrier without registration number for checking. But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle, accelerated the speed and tried to flee away from the spot. The alert police party successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it at few meters away from naka point.
During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer place.
A case FIR No. 180/2024 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
