SAMBA POLICE FOILS TWO BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS: 11 BOVINES RESCUED

Samba, May 03, 2025: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled two bovines smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Samba and Ghagwal and rescued eleven bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. The vehicles used in the illegal transportation of bovines were also seized.

A Police team headed by SHO Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, signaled to stop a Canter truck bearing registration No. JK13H-2191 coming from Kathua side for its checking. But the driver of the said vehicle accelerated the speed and tried to escape from the spot. The alert cops successfully intercepted the vehicle few meters away from the Naka point. During checking of the vehicle, seven bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

A case FIR No. 54/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.

In another bovine smuggling incident, a Police team headed by Incharge PP Supwal of PS Samba has intercepted a Mahindra Load carrier bearing registration No. JK17-7590 near Nanak Chak and rescued four bovines which were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

A case FIR No. 129/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
