SAMBA POLICE FOILS TWO MAJOR BOVINE SMUGGLING BIDS: RESCUES 44 BOVINES, SEIZES 02 VEHICLES

Samba, April 03, 2025: Tightening noose against the bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has foiled two major bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued forty four bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. The vehicles used for illegal transportation of bovines were also seized.
An information was received at Police Station Ghagwal from reliable sources regarding smuggling of bovines in a truck container bearing registration No. NL01N-0553. Acting on information, a Police team headed by SHO Police Station Ghagwal successfully intercepted the said truck at naka NHW Tapyal for its checking. During checking, twenty six bovines found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and the said truck has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 48/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Similarly in another bovine smuggling attempt foiled by Police, a truck container without registration No. was intercepted at naka NHW Tapyal and during its checking, eighteen bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and the truck has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 47/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba.
