SAMBA POLICE NABBED 2 DRUG PEDDLERS, RECOVERED 17.95 GRAMS HEROIN LIKE SUBSTANCE
Samba, March 2, 2025: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba Police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and recovered 17.95 grams approximately heroin (chitta) like substance from their possession.
A Police party headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana during vehicle checking naka at Lane No. 17 Industrial area Bari Brahmana, intercepted a Santro Car bearing Regd. No.JK01P -4198 coming from Balole Khad side for its checking.
During checking, 17.95 grams approximately heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of two persons sitting in the said car.
The drug peddlers identified as Reyaz Ahmed Wani S/o Mohd Akbar Wani R/o Looseani tehsil and district Pulwama and Asif Ahmed Rishi S/o Abdul Rashid Rishi R/ o Banapora Batmaloo tehsil and district Srinagar have been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No 34/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
SSP Samba warned strict action against the people indulging in drug trafficking, bovine smuggling and other criminal activities and also sought the cooperation of people in this regard.
